Polo shirts have long been used for sports like tennis and golf. They come in the form of a T shaped shirt with a collar and buttons, and some even come with a pocket on one side. However, polo shirts have become more than just sports uniforms; they have evolved to come in different styles and colours and can be worn by anyone. Embroidered polos, as the name suggests, are polo shirts with embroidery on them. These kinds of polo shirts have increased in popularity, particularly in the male population in a lot of countries.

Polo shirts were invented to replace the bulky uniforms that tennis players used in the past. The first to come up with the idea was French tennis champion Rene Lacoste. He added an alligator emblem on the shirt because he was called the “alligator” in the field. He came up with the idea because tennis players in the past used to wear white long-sleeved shirts with buttons paired with flannel trousers, which were really hard to play in, as they was hot and heavy to wear. In 1933, Lacoste mass-produced his polo shirts and they have been a popular fashion item since then.

Those who want to achieve a sporty and casual look wear embroidered polos. Some of them are designed to look more formal so they can be worn for events that require smart casual attire. They are worn for school, work or leisure as they are very versatile and can go with any pair of pants.

There are a lot of designs for embroidered polos; some of them come in stripes of different colours while others come in solid colours with various designs embroidered on them. They cater to men and women of any age because of their versatility.

A lot of people find embroidered polo shirts more appealing than plain ones. Perhaps one of the most common embroidery found in a polo shirt is the green alligator located on the left breast of the polo. Through the years, a lot of clothing lines have come up with their own logos to add to polo shirts. Some companies even have embroidered polos customized by having their company’s logo embroidered on the shirt. They are given to employees to wear on casual days out. A number of fast food chains also have their employees wear embroidered polo shirts with the restaurant’s name or logo on the shirt so that people would easily recognize them.

There are considerable advantages to wearing embroidered polos. Instead of wearing long-sleeved polos that may be awkward and hot, polo shirts give you the option of looking smart but not too formal. Some of the advantages of embroidered polos are: they are made with short cuffed sleeves so that people can wear them in any climate and they can be paired up with a nice jacket for a smarter look; if you feel like the collar is constricting your movement and you find it uncomfortable, you can always unbutton the placket; the collar can be adjusted to point upwards to shield the neck from the heat of the sun; and they are usually made out of cotton, making them very breathable.

Embroidered polos are more than just a fashion statement; they are also very comfortable and versatile to wear.
